Hot to Trot: Function meets Fashion and Performance meets Poise

At BonBon Equestrian we are passionate about stylish and original design. Our prints are clever  and classy renditions of equestrian iconography or playful horsing around. We put a lot of thought into colour making sure that we stay trend relevant yet versatile and easy-to-ordinate. Dressed to ride every day, we have a deep understanding of the equestrian wardrobe and the performance requirements of our garments.

The very essence of our riding shirts is our choice of fabric. We chose a lightweight technical sports fabric with air-wicking. Soft to the touch and gently body skimming, our shirts support the active needs of equestrian sports. Air-wicking means that the tiny perforations flick perspiration and are quick to dry, leaving the rider feeling cool and comfortable. In colder weather, they make the perfect base layer upon which to layer up. 

Our obsession with detail meant that no expense was spared to deliver the important touches. Longer sleeves to meet your gloves and a longer length to save you from the dreaded untuck. We perfected our fit on real humans; our horse-riding buddies. Fitting after fitting with feedback until we were happy. We cut 6 panels to make a curvy body-skimming silhouette. Our pattern cleverly gives curves where you want them while glossing over the ones that you don’t want. We softly rounded the front and back hemlines to secure a flattering look with both pull-on breeches and tucked into jodhpurs. 

When we plan our colour assortment we couple our understanding of trend relevance with an awareness of versatility. Considering that most equestrian wardrobes contain a high ratio of the bottom basics across navy, black and neutral, we are mindful to create colourways that work back to those in some element of the print. That said, we are big fans of a little colour and fashion adventure so we love unexpected yet tasteful combinations.
